| Triathica: Train like a Triathlete Any feedback you can give would be greatly appreciated. Ron Saetermoe, an active age-group triathlete is considering opening a health club specializing in the exercise and coaching of triathletes. There are plenty of health clubs, but none that we’re aware of that “specialize” in triathlon (lots treat it as a sideline). While there will not be any specific requirements for membership (e.g., active in triathlon or USAT member), anyone can join that wants to “train like a triathlete.”
Exercise machines will be installed that benefit the triathlete. These may include an endless pool, Vasa trainer (swim), CompuTrainers and treadmills as well as the standard health club machines.
Ron is not a coach, therefore the gym will retain a “house coach” that works with triathletes on their training plan, training, nutrition, etc. In addition, “outside” coaches will be available to work with athletes as they wish.
The basic monthly fee will be around $50.00 and coaching, development of training plans, nutrition counseling, etc. will be extra.
