| I'm not exactly clear on you question. First, what distance triathlon(s) are you wanting to participate in? You'd want to train differently based on the distance and your estimated time to completion.
Perhaps on a similar subject however, Chris Carmichael recently published an interval workout that pushes you to the failure point. I'm afraid to try this but I'll repeat it here:
Begin by warming up for 20 minutes. Then do 6 sets of 6 minute all out sprints separated by 5 minute breaks at 85%. Finally, cool down for at least 20 minutes. Do this 3 times per week for 6 weeks leading up to your event.
I did two of these and yacked at the end. The few friends who have done all sets spent the rest of their days in bed.
