Im Fla

Hey guys.
I've been incognito for a while. I guess that's what happens when you train for an IM and still try and have a life.

Well, the taper has started, and I have time.

Who is doing IMFLA?

I'll be there. STaying at the summit.

Syd

I'm jealous!!! Good luck and have fun. Have a race goal in mind? FL is a great race but you're probably in for higher than normal temps this year. Haven't looked the temps in the gulf but pretty sure it'll be a rubber laden swim. Watch out for the monster 100' overpass climb on the bike. Contrary to popular belief, that's not the biggest hill in FL. Hopefully you'll get a nice breeze in the afternoon to make your cool down run more pleasant. Knock 'em dead Syd!!!

FLorida

Yeah, I'm actually looking forward to the overpass. I train in really hillly terrain so the flats will be boring! Fast, but boring.

I'm more concerned about the jelly fish than the temps. Hopefully suits will be allowed cause that could get ugly. Thanks to the unseasonably warm weather up here I don't think the temp differences will be too bad. Drink, drink, then drink some more!

I actually seem to perform better the warmer it gets.

Good luck Syd,

I'll be at the event but only as a spectator. I will be signing up for the 2008 event while I'm there.

Have you thought about the M-dot?

Let me know your race number and I'll try to track you down.

Eddie

Syd, no worries on the jellies. The predominant species there is called the half-moon and they're not particularly bad. If there are man-o-war in the water though, they'll cancel the swim & turn it into a DU.

If you want insurance, buy a couple of sting pads. Any local dive shop will have them. They'll give you instant relief if you do get stung.

Talked to my son last night and we're going back to Clermont FL in '08 for the GFT.

Have fun.
