| searching for an article by mark allen and need advice in off season training Hi everyone...
I read about 3 years ago, I think in "triathlete" or "inside triathlon", an article by mark allen where he was talking about how he needed to rethink his training after he always overtrained or got injured. That's where my question lies. Does anybody remembers or maybe read that article? I try to find that article again, cause I need to change my basic training. I got injured several times and always either right before a marathon or in way that my season(if you can even call that) was over before it really began.
I only remember that Mark was talking about training in a very low HR, so low, that he even had to walk sometimes, but after several months he got back into his old shape and was better than ever.
I try to remember how exactly he was training. Maybe someone can help me out here.
The reason I'm asking is that I want to start Tri soon. I finished 3 marathons so far in fairly ok time, but again got injured as I wanted to start with Tri.
To say I'm a horrible swimmer is an understatement. I'm an ok breast stroke swimmer, but I can barely swim 25 yrds in freestyle w/o drowning. Now that the year is almost over again I need to get back in shape after I gained about 15 lbs. due to another injury since my last marathon even though I took upcycling. Does anybody know where I can find training plans for the off season or just to get a basic overall strength.
Thanks for any advice
