Triathlon Partners?

Is there an event or type of race that allows for Partners in a Triathlon? A couple of my friends and I would like to do triathlons but we were wondering if its possible for one of us to do the running, then another do the swimming, and the other to the biking. Is this possible?

You're describing a "relay" where a different person takes each leg of the race. Most triathlons have one or more catagories for relay teams, check the web site for the events you are interested in competing in.

Good luck

Duggar is correct. MOST events allow relays. Although it's fun to "participate" in some regard, there is nothing like the satisfaction you'll get by doing a Triathlon. Yes, you! Yes, all three! I assure you it's mostly mental. In the words of Lee Iococca: "If you think you can, you're right. If you think you can't, you're right".

Thanks for the info. This will really help get my buddies and I started in the sport. You never know maybe this will be a gateway for me to get into doing full Triathlons.

Thanks again!!!

Good advice and a great attitude is what you got so far. I believe you would suprise yourself at how much fun and satisfaction Tri-ing is. My wife came to watch me one time...she became hooked.

Carpe Diem
