10 days away till 1st sprint

What do i do the nite before? and how much rest should the body have with training regimines going into the race. I 've been working so much my training has really trailed off. I plan on taking my time and just trying to finish with enuff energy to make it the rest of the day with energy... any transition advice would also bve greatly appreciated. i have a wet suit and what should i be concerned with leaving the swim to clipping into the bike to running for home Please help Rhino :bannana:

Hi Rhino I have my second sprint tri this week end. Tonight i will be doing my last training session and it will be a easy 20K ride with out timing my self. Also a couple of nights before the race I will go to bed early, make sure you eat plenty of carbs and drink lots of water leading up to race day!

Let us know how you get on.

Cheers
Julian

Hi, best i can think of is to stay relaxed and calm. practice getting in and out of your wetsuit a few times before the race. have a small hand towel at your transition spot (with a big bright towel to find your spot) to dry your feet and face.
remember to leave your shoes and glasses at the transition when walking to the swim start (it is common to forget and have to walk back). check what gear your bike is in when you rack it, if it is to big a gear at the start you could have difficulty, you can always shift to a bigger gear after you start spinning. most importantly, don't worry about your time on your first triathlon, just have fun.

Gutted, another little bit of advise for you rhino do not have a BBQ two days before the race as I did.Its not very often the weather is nice enough in the evenings in England to have one,but it was on friday so we did.BIG MISTAKE thanks to my dodgy cooking we all spent the weekend very ill and wasn't able to compete.Still I went along to support my tainning partner, had a good morning and look forward to the next one!

Cheers
Julian.
