Need a plan

Hello! I done the Danskin Tri twice, but not for two years now. Does anyone have a good motivational guide to recommend? My triathlon is 25 weeks away! Are there any women's groups in Denver that get together to train? Let me know - I'm excited to get going! woohoo

Hi Patricia..
if you are looking for motivation..just look your local TV listings for Triathlon races on TV. That works great for the motivation part. As far as a training plan, several tribooks have some sort of guidance to help you build a plan to fit your needs, distance, and prior experience. Friel's book can get a little overwhelming, but it is a good book and very thorough.

You can also search on google for a denver based triathlon club. I will be surprised if there isn't any. Tri clubs typically charge a small fee ($50-70/year) to become a member and they organize bike rides, swim clinincs and track workouts. Also, I would check on your gym or put a post on their bulletin board for training partners.

Let us know how your training works. My race is in 10 weeks and I got sidelined with a kneecap injury :-(
after a car crashed on me while I was on my bike.

Get some magazines as well. I just got the 'triathletes training bible' by Joe Friel. It is also great motivation, and full of awesome info on training.

Patricia,

I subscribe to Triathlete Magazine and visit [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for articles. I love the current Gatorade commercial which highlights the IronMan Kona. I agree, watching them are fun.
