Rep Power: | Transitions for ladies I have just started training for my first triathlon after years of wanting to give them a try. My big worry though is transitions, you see I am a rather large busted gal (DD cup) and am not going to be able to run without some very heavy duty support - can any of you ladies help please!! |

Rep Power: | Hi Danni,
I am also a new triathlete, and I am also large breasted. I have been wearing the Hot Chili's racer back bra for running and also the Champion bras. I think that the best way to do the transition is to get one of these bras in grey or black and wear it as a top and get a lightly padded bottom to match so that it does not look so much like a bra. Or get a matching tri top and wear the bra underneath. I have also thought about getting a one piece tri suit and wearing the bra underneath. I am just not 100% sure what will work for us... it seems that this issue is not readily addressed by tri suit makers, there is just not enough support in those suits for anything more than a B cup. Keep me posted if you find out anything that might work better.
thanks !

Rep Power: | Running support First off, let me say Good Luck ladies! Triathlon is an awesome sport.
While I don't share your problem, I know several ladies that do. The most popular solution seems to be finding a good, supportive bra that you can wear under your swimsuit. Something that will wick moisture away and be comfortable when wet is a must. Lots of lady runners run in nothing more than a jog bra, but you might want to buy a dark color or print bra that won't show thru when wet.
Have fun out there! |

Rep Power: | The most supportive bra I have ever seen is Enell also. They are like strait jackets but they are the best I've seen. They aren't wicking, or cute but they will support you. |

Rep Power: | In my respectful opinion, the only bra worth considering for well-endowed gals such as myself is the ENELL. Yes it is expensive but it is the only one that works. It acts as a binder and gives full coverage. It comes in several colours - white, black, beige, purple. I told a friend of mine who does equestrian riding and it has changed her life also! No more bounce. |

Rep Power: | more questions.. I am glad to see I am not the only one who has these issues. I am preparing for an ironman distance tri this year.. my question is, if you are going to be wearing a wetsuit, then do you still wear a swimsuit underneath or just a jogbra and swimbottoms? It will be my first tri using a wetsuit and i am a little clueless. Also.. do you just go slip on your bike shorts immediately or is there some way to get out of your wet bottoms first? I havent encountered these issues with the shorter summertime races i have done in the past.
As for the jog bra.. i am a good C cup and find the champion bras work really well. Sometimes you can find them in a material that will dry quicker rather than the cotton they normally are. |

Rep Power: | Can't answer the female specific question but will suggest you just buy a good tri outfit (I like Zoot) and wear it under your suit and for the entire event. I changed shorts & tops in my first few Ironmans and found I was no more comfortable than keeping on good clothing from the start. My $.02.

Rep Power: | I am so glad for this discussion! I also love my Enell running bra (I'm a DD), and I'm preparing for my first triathlon. I'll need a wetsuit, so I'm thinking about purchaseing a tri suit. But I wonder: Would I wear my (Enell) running bra under the trisuit, and then keep the whole ensemble on for the whole race? (I.e. no actual clothing changes?)
Thanks for any advice! |

Rep Power: | Correct, wear your Enell under your wetsuit. Time in T1 & T2 are part of the race so you want to spend as little time as possible in there. Good luck!

Rep Power: | Tri it frist I have not been here for a while, but I do remember sfricks always suggest do not try anything new for a during a race. Now I am the type that has to learn for myself first, so I have learned he is right. POINT IS:: Head out to the lake and do a trial run with your new equipment before you wear it in a race. |
