Hi kids, did ya miss me?
I've been up to my eyes in life as of late but here goes my end of season reports on my races.
First, the sprint, unfortunatly it was anything but a sprint but I had a good time anyway. The water was a shock to the system at 62 deg. My hands hurt from the cold until about 200 meters in and Im quite sure that I diddn't blink but maybe twice the entire swim.
Swim: .5 miles, 25:00
T1: 3:10
Bike: 17.2 miles, 1:00:30
T2: 2:54
Run: 3.1 miles, 36:40
Total time: 2:08:14
I had very little time to train for this race, as my times show but I will crush it next June!!!!!!!
On to the Olympic
In this race I did it with my son-in-law and my best bud as a relay, and it was a gas!
Water was great, no wind on the day and warm.
Swim: 1500m, 35:50, son-in-law
T1: :38
Bike: 26.1 miles, 1:25:29, best bud
T2: :47
Run: 10K, 1:04:22, yours truly
Total time: 3:07:04, this time gave us third place in the mens relay.
Now the hard one, The half iron.
Swim: 1.2 miles, 1:16:27 (I had some difficultys in the water)
T1: 3:48
Bike: 56 miles, 3:13:34
T2: 5:13 (I had to use the facilitys)
Run: 13.1 miles, 3:12:09 (dumped rocks out of my shoes twice)
Total time: 7:50:09, I was really going for breaking 6 hours but as you can see it diddn't workout that way, again look out next year! As a side note, I missed my PR by a mere 4 seconds.
I will try to visit this awsome site alot more often, life is calming down tons and it looks like I will have more time to devote to myself and have a bit more fun.
P.S. I see that Daphne is also back on the site, good to see your name pop up again!
