    Start of a new season

Hi all, I'm back to the site. This is my race report for the start of the 08 season. The race, The Mini Haha, in my home town. This is a super sprint and it's a kick in the pants to do. This is my first year doing it and I did it with very little training because my life has been totally upside down these past few months, work load is over the top and my daughter was in a severe car crash. The work load is still heavy but my daughter is doing well and on the road to recovery.
Distances for the race, swim 300 yds. (pool) cycle 11 miles, run 2 miles.
Since this is a small local race put on by the city the timing is cumulative and I finished 1:05:26, this will be my season starter from now on because it's just fun to do and see all the newbies finishing their first tri. It's awsome to see all the "big" people finishing with that "I did it" look on their faces.
Next race is this Sunday, a sprint with 1/2 mile open water swim, 17.2 mile ride, and a 3.1 mile run. This year I hope to finish under 2 hours.
Thanks for reading, I hope to be back to the site alot more often.
    Spike.

Welcome back Sunshine! Long time no hear. Keep us posted on your races this season. Our tri season is actually finished so it's cycling only for now.

Sorry to hear about your daughter but glad she's OK. My best to her and the rest of you family.

Thanks Scott, your post was exactly what I needed. Next race is this Sunday 6/15 it's a sprint in very cold water, around 60 deg.
Maybe it will make me swim faster? the rest of the race should be very pleasant and warm. With very little training time I am still shooting for a PR.
I will let you know how it went next week.
    Spike.
