Shoes

The first thing I would look at is your shoes. Are they running shoes, are they old? Most running shoes have a life span of 400km. I go through 2 two 3 pairs a year. The cushioning can wear out.

Do your shins hurt while running outside? Maybe your running position changes once on the treadmill?

Just some ideas
Syd

I read somewhere that you must have a treadmill angled up at least .5%
otherwise on the flat you are actually running downhill slightly.

Other than that the pain you have sounds like shinsplints a problem I get
from time to time.

Re: shin burning

Don't let your heal hit the ground first. Strike the ground with the front
half of your foot, this will help with your shin problems.
