swimming with sports bra

i just got a great new sports bra from enell ( [Only registered and activated users can see links. ])
i custom ordered the 'last resort bra' which my running partner
recommended, but i was wondering if anyone has experience swimming with
something like this? swimsuits don't work for running (i'm sure most of
the girls here get this) so i need something that works for both
running and swimming. i havent tried this yet, but this bra with track
briefs on the bottom works fine for the cycling and running part. i am
just trying to
find a solution for the swimming part. any suggestions?

Re: swimming with sports bra

I bought this sports bra, and for support it really is superb, and
trust me, I am one who needs support ;-). However, when it was in the
100's outside I couldn't wear it, it was way to hot, and the bra didn't
breath at all (mine may not be one made w/ the wick away material). I
could only wear it when I did my work outs indoors. Now that it's
cooler I'm prolly going to wear it out more often.

I haven't tried swimming in it, but I really don't think that the
material is going to be good for that, again it looks like they are
making out of a different material now, so I may be wrong. I''ll
verify what mine is made of tonight. I'm pretty sure the care
instructions call for it to be hand washed so I wouldn't put it anywear
near chlorine. For the price I paid for mine I want to keep it as long
as possible. If you decide to try swimming in it let me know how well
it works out. Good luck. As for transitional support I'm still
looking for an answer. I'll let you know if I find anything.

Re: swimming with sports bra

hi mrs tberry,

i just tried the combo of this bra and the track shorts in the pool and
it is ok but not ideal. i still find it very hard to breathe in the
bra, and swimming makes this worse. the track shorts are really great
since they are cut and fit just like a bikini so are good for water,
and they worked ok for biking too as i rode over to the pool. the bra
is really heavy when wet but holds me in place better than any regular
bra i have worn swimming, plus the ride back was tolerable. i once
tried a support one piece suit but it offered little in the way of
support except to waddle to and from the pool. i am not so sure about
doing a whole triathlon in this combo but if there is anything that
will work this is it.

i also tried this combo for gymnastics and liked it. the shorts dont
ride up as badly as a leotard does and more or less stay in place. now
if i could just find a way to keep my glasses in place i will be very
happy!!

Works very well for the swim, bike, and run. Breathes extremely well,
keeps you cool and covered so you don't burn. There is no drag during
the bike and run when coming out of the swim wet. It is light weight and
very supportive, very low bounce, no stress on back.

Watch the arm hole sizes, they fit a bit big. Make sure your breasts are
covered more rather than less (ie going down a size is more helpful).

This years model has pockets for gel flasks to sit sideways on hips.
Last years model the gel flasks sat upright. Pockets are large enough
for several gels and a very large gel/water flask in each pocket, plus
extras, yet small enough to hold just a gel and not flap around.

The zipper chest allows you to open up to have more air or close to keep
warmer in the wind.

Armpits are comfortable. Wide straps are also comfortable.

Ack, the Enell bra with the hooks and eyes? That sounds like a major chafing problem to me!!

I like the RRS bras at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] - good support, in lots of colors, inexpensive. If you're really big-busted you might try wearing two.
