Questions on 2007 Trek E9

Hi,

I am thinking about ordering a 2007 Trek Equinox 9 (black AL) from my
LBS,
but I have some questions that I hope someone can answer.

I saw last years E7, and Trek left some unsightly welds in the rear-cut
of
the seattube. Has this detail been improved on the 2007 E9? Is it
still
cut and weld, or is it formed? What width is the cut-out?

What shape are the seatstays (round, elliptical, other)?

What is the width and depth of the downtube?

What shape is the headtube?

How are the cables routed? Internal through the toptube?

Thanks!

Pretty detailed questions there.

Have you asked the guys in the LBS? Will they get one in for you to try?
Wouldn't that be more use to you?

Just looking at the pretty pictures on the web site, it does look like
they've had a bit of a go at making the frames more 'aero' (seatpost /
clamp, top tube and steerer look heavily modified over the '06). As far as
I know only the OCLV frames have ever actually been near a wind tunnel. I
can't see it being worth it for the 'lower end'. It looks like they've tried
to reproduce the shape of the composite frame in alloy as best they can.

The frame looks the same on the 7, if you want to save $550. It doesn't
look as though that frame is available on its own.

I just wish I was fast enough to justify something like that.
