Need info on Polar HRM: transmitters interchangeable?

Greets, all -- I'm in dire need of information, and believe it or not,
Polar's not being very forthcoming. I figured there was a good chance
that someone here would have experience, so here goes.

I took my Polar S610 HRM on a recent trip to Colorado (and it was very
educational seeing what kind of numbers my sea-level heart up on the
receiver after I slammed through a mogul field at 12,000+ feet...but
that's another funny story). Somewhere on the way home, the transmitter
went its separate way -- perhaps a diligent Homeland Security type
figured it was the next thing in, oh, I don't know, something really
dangerous, but in any case, I got home with a receiver (the wristwatch
thingie) but no transmitter.

The questions that I have, and that the dour and silent Finnish types at
Polar seem unwilling to answer, is:

- Is there such a thing as a replacement transmitter, and if so,
where/how can I get one?
- Are Polar transmitters interchangeable or must I get one specific to
the S610?
- If the answer to my first question is "No, you silly fool," is there
anyone out there who'd like to sell me one so that I don't have to cough
up a couple hundred bucks for a full replacement?

TIA,

Yes. From polar or other site(ebay). They run about $50 to $60.

The main transmitter used within this line is the T-61 coded
transmitter. It's used across multiple units.

You should have no problem finding a replacement transmiter at any reputable polar dealer. Most will have them in stock, if not they will easily be able to order one for you!
Good Luck

No, backchannel. That's directly to my email address and with a valid
return email address. Otherwise, it will be difficult for me to get you
a new transmitter. I'm not going to do this over the newsgroup.

Cheers

What about the transmitters for their cycle-computers (i.e. the
spedometer sensor/transmitter)? Those aren't on their web-site... Does
anyone know of a good dealer?
Thanks
