Tip for Garmin Forerunner Users (Online Mapping ASP)
I found a site that can parse your Garmin's XML output into individual
workout files.
Then, you upload one of your workout files. The application creates a map
that is color-coded by speed and overlays your route on a road/trail map.
It includes some color coded geographic features. Pretty slick...

The road and geographic feature overlays make it much richer (and
informative) than the Garmin application that you can download from the
Garmin site.
No - - it is not my site.
No - - I have no business or personal relationship with the creators of this
site.
No - - I derive no benefit from your choice to (or not to) visit the site.
They apparently solicit donations (freeware/shareware/ASP) rather than
charging outright.

Yep. That's a good one. I've found about 10 sites that will do the same
thing. One of my favorites is [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. You can upload your
workouts and also view other users runs/rides/etc across the world.

This site is very informative and includes some other links to various
mapping tools They also describe how you can automate backing up your
forerunner tracks.
There's freeware called daybreaker [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
It will split your xml files very quickly.
