Already have it and it was part of the reason I said what I did. Maybe
you can tell me where my interpretation is wrong, seeing as Mr Coggan
doesn't want to or can't.
Amongst others, see page 83 (2nd edition), item 8 in the summary of
"Better Training Through Chemistry"
"The goal of training is to improve the ability of muscle cells to
increase O2 utilisation so that at any particular pace the anaerobic
contribution is smaller than before."
Which would seem to suggest that O2 availability all the way from
atmosphere to muscle is not the limiting factor.
Note that I don't care if I'm right or wrong but I'd like to understand
better either way.

VO2max is (primarily) limited by convective O2 delivery, not the rate at
which the mitochondria can utilize O2 - consult any undergraduate exercise
physiology textbook.
