Um, it's tradtional to put a spoiler warning in a post like this for
people who haven't seen the race yet. It won't be broadcast in the US
for another 12 hours or so.

I'm assuming that's per K average, not per mile? <g>

ye also helps when you don't have to do any work on the bike just sit in the
pack and get towed around
Loretta did all on her own she should have the gold just for her effort.

Re: olympic tri....woman

There may be an olympic swim/suckwheel/run race on tv tonight, but it's NOT
triathlon.

Ahh if only the Australian selectors had selected Craig Walton, then
there'd be no wheel sucking in the men's (at the front anyway). I'll
still be watching it though.

Re: olympic tri....woman

What horrible coverage of the race. Haven't raced in 5 years or been here
(rst) in a long time. Kind of cleared out in here huh? what is the state of
Triathlon today anyway? I hope the trend towards draft legal racing has not
continued as it was a few years ago. The same Jackass running the show at US
Triathlon? Hope you all are enjoying fast injury free racing and training

yeah, tell me about it... why would the Olympic tri allow drafting, so
unlike the rest of 'em? ARE there other instances of drafting-allowed
tri's?

still, a cool finish... much like that by my fellow Canuck, Simon
Whitfield in the 2000 Games

That is confusing. Is she an Australian-Austrian?

I was at the Sydney races in 2000, and the races were bloody BORING.
A moderate swim, a lackluster bike leg while they all rode around in a
big pack (crashing occasionally just to keep the spectators awake I
suppose), and then the real event (a 10k) started. Yawn.

As my friend pointed out, the Olympic version is just a 10K run for
people who can swim and bike.
