Crash!!!!

Oh, man, am I sore and in pain. Wrecked my bike today doing 23 mph and slid across the pavement (thank God for helmets, because mine was scratched up.) I'm fine, really. My whole right side is road rash, shoulder, elbow, and knee took the brunt. Just skin, which grows back, right? Chain came off, easy to fix since I was still 5 miles from home. Tore up my right bar tape (shredded) But, I have to give proper respect to my LBS and my fabulous mechanic, Doug. As soon as I got home, I called and asked if I could get it in and out in less than 2 days. "No problem, whatever you need." This is why it's good to get in with your LBS mechanics and counter people. They become part of your support team and part of your family.

Everyone be careful out there; stay safe and stay aware.

OUCH!!! Glad you're OK. What happened? Rain? Gravel? Dog? 23MPH... You were crankin!

Skin grows back. I fell on my right side in 12/04 then my left side in 4/05. To this day both my sholders make a grinding noise.

I would consider relpacing your helmet. Even if it's just scratched the integrity could be compromised and that's a risk you don't want to take.

Hope you heal fast!!!

Helmet's already in the trash. I don't mess around with crashed helmets. And mine was significantly scratched. Also, my neck is sore today, so I know that I hit with force. I'm going to the pool this afternoon to put in a 3500, hopefully that'll work out the kinks and some soreness. Thing is; I have an 18 miler tomorrow and I have a race on Saturday. ARGGHHH!!!!

I assume Saturday's race is not an A race. You'll do well I'm sure. Carbo load like crazy tomorrow and Friday to reload those hammers. Don't let me catch you without a sports drink in your hand young lady ;) Hope you swim goes/went OK.

I'm excited to bike in the AM. Running 6 then riding 13 with wifey. We'll only average 14-15 MPH but on a course with about 3000 feet of climbing and an average 14% grade on the climbs. I can make it challenging by banging up the hills.

Well, got to the pool and the soreness was overwhelming

Saturday's race is a sprint, so I know I can tough it out for an hour. Sorry to sound like a whiner!! Just tell me to suck it up!

Scott, have a great ride tomorrow! I pick up my bike in the pm and I'll do a 20 mile spin on Friday followed by a 3 mile brick run. And yes, I'll do a good carb load for the next two days. I'll let you know how the 18 mile run goes tomorrow. I'm actually kind of excited for it, because I've never ran that far. Just have to be sure that my iPod's charged up and that I've got enough fuel to take on the run in my pack. I'm planning on 3 hours.
