Rep Power: | I do love my wine and margies, but I'm not as bad as you think! :)
And I also find that as I get older as well, it hurts just a little more....oh the sweet days of my youth. Let's see, 8 years in the Navy stationed in San Diego, it all just takes me back! Those were the days when you could party all night and bounce back without recourse the next day!

Rep Power: | You are trully all that IM! I never had those days of youth. Even in my Law Enforcement days I could never pull an all nighter and work the next day. I'm not worthy of your company :(
Have a great weekend!

Rep Power: | Doing great here, did my weekly open water swim with training partners than did an easy 8 miler. After that went to brunch with the family and refueled. Woke up early this morning for another easy run. Went to meetings for work for the late morning. Tomorrow on the bike and in the pool for a swim.

Rep Power: | Had a good weekend and a good Monday. Today I was S_O_R_E! Sunday 20 mile tempo ride to race start, 20.5 mile point to point race (rode esier with wifey), 21 mile tempo+++ ride back to race start line then 20 mile recovery ride back home. 2 hour easy ocean swim Sunday afternoon. Monday 8 mile tempo run & a 2000m tempo swim. This morning 6 mile dead-legged run and 13 mile recovery ride with wifey.
I went into this mornings run very dehydrated. 1 gallon later and I'm still way behind. Also wifey is getting so much stonger so what I'm now calling recovery rides will soon be tempo rides.
This afternoon 2000m form swim and tomorrow easy 6 miler. It's still a long way to recovery day (Saturday) so wish me luck.
On the bright side, the winds have calmed and the seas are down. I think it's going to be a lobster catchin' night!

Scott~ you should be sore from that weekend! I've got an 8 mile farlek tonight. The weather here in the midwest has been hot, hot, hot! So, last night I went on my 30 mile bike ride at 7 pm. Thank goodness for dst!

Rep Power: | I do all my open water swim in Corona Del Mar at Big Corona Beach. I meet with training partners every Sunday for the swim than we go for a run after.
Everyone seems to be doing great this summer. Everyone keep it going!
I am about to commit to my first 70.3. I think its going to be California.

Rep Power: | Chris~ I know that beach, do you wear a wet suit? Are you doing the Ralph's california half? When is that, April/May? Good luck, its great to finish a half. Just watch out, you'll start eyeballing the full IM. It's all over then!

Rep Power: | Heather's right... Once you go Iron, you'll find yourself start to get bored with those short little Olys and 70.3s. :) If it doesn't take 10 hours, it's just another E2 workout.

Rep Power: | Ramping up for this weekends festivities with the little Oly, it's hot here in CO too IM, and I'll be doing a ride this evening with friends sometime after work. Then off to blistfull slumber to get up early for the pool, the stroke is starting to really click in and the workouts are much more enjoyable. I will let you guys know how it went early next week with my times and maybe a story (Way better than the last one I hope).
Until then, happy training.

Rep Power: | In leiu of farlek tonight (not supposed to do anything tonight, really) I'm going on another 30 mile ride with my friend from the pic. My ride felt too good last night, so I thought I'd do it again. After that, since its the start of my weekend (wed and thur off days), I'm going to sit on my back deck and visit with her. There may be a glass of wine involved!
I signed up my youngest for Kindergarten today, I'm a little sad. He's not a baby anymore, but this will also give me enormous amounts of training time! That, I'm looking forward to. No more guilt about leaving them to train. A funny story about that, though. I went to Cleveland to visit my best friend, and had a brick scheduled for one of the days I was there. So, I brought my bike. I also took my youngest with me. We got to her house and Dylan tells her, "Mom brought her bike because she's got to do a brick tomorrow. She'll be gone for a little while!" I could have died laughing! He's only five, but a triathlete in training! And a natural on a bike, maybe a future Lance, Levi, or George? (or Floyd, Christian, or David) Enough rambling...time to make dinner.

Rep Power: | Well I have my Half planned than the next year I want to do a full Ironman. I still like think I will enjoy the shorter races. We'll see. Yes I do wear a wetsuit at the beach, water has not gone above 68. Carlsbad it was 70 and I still wore a suit. Needed the extra help. Next year I hope to be working days and not working overnight shifts so I can focus on training a bit more to gear up for the 70.3.

Rep Power: | Chris, I jest about the Iron thing. 70.3 is still my favorite distance. I enjoy sprints still but as I mentioned I'd rather do an Ironman than an Oly. All respect to Spike. For a competitive athlete, Oly is physically the toughest distance in my opinion. 140.6 is greatly a mental race.
Heather, thanks for reminding us that Triathletes are real people with real lives and real families! :)
