Hey guys. I've been hesitant about getting into the supplement game for a few years now. Recently as I have been getting pretty serious into this tri thing I have begun to wonder if I am not getting the full benefits of my workouts by not using a supplement after my workouts.
I'm planning on making a trip to my local GNC this week, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what I should be using? (Brands/types)?
Thanks a bunch
Syd :D

Very few supplements on the market are of any use to anyone. A number of products have various ingredients that *can potentially* help with recovery/performance when taken in large amounts...and of course the amounts in these products are typically very low, but they sure will market that fact that they are in there!
The single more significant thing that you can do for recovery (aside from taking steroids!....and no - disclaimer for the day - I'm not promoting them) is to take in at about 1g of carbs for every kg of body weight, along with a small amount of protein (~10-15g) IMMEDIATELY after working out. R4 does fine with this, although there is no magic behind the 4:1 ratio thing, so don't feel constrained by this.
