I have been training for a month pretty hard. In the past 2 months I have dropped a bunch of weight and decided that I'm going to try a tri. I'm going to do a Sprint Oct 26. I have been hitting it pretty hard. I look at all the Triathlon stuff online and am very stoked. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have surfed for 35 years but got pretty over weight the past few years. The surf has proven not to be consistent enough to keep me fit. July 28 I weighed 228 and today I'm 195. I couldn't jog a half mile without having horrible back pain. Yesterday I ran 3 miles in 26 min and swam .25 in less than 10 min and rode 10 miles all back to back. Im getting there but need direction. My goal is a couple sprints, if I like it, half Iron and iron here I come. Might take a couple years but Im on a mission. Any feed back welcome. Would love to find training partner at my level in my area.

I killed it. I actually got 2nd place in the Novice division and wouldn't have done bad in the age group either. It was a 1/4 M swim, 12 mile bike, and 3 mile run. I finished in 1:08. I was 27th over all and Im super stoked for my first triathlon. WOW what a cool thing.
On my way into the bike/run T2 this dude said,"is there any Novice in front of us". I said, I don't know but if there is not, I hope you don't mind 2nd place than I burn by him in the transition, as I had practiced a ton, and he flew by me on the run and got like 3 minutes up on me. Turned out he was super cool and he was first and I was 2nd in the Novice division. He also is a Marathon runner so I don't feel bad. I'm on to an Olympic dist in March. Let the training begin. YEA!!!!!!

What's a full docket? Here is a link to the results of my first triathlon. It was small but I'm super pumped.
