Getting ready to head down to our area's 2nd sprint tri of this year. This race is in Boca Raton, FL and is a 1/4 mile swim / 10 mile bike / 3.1 mile run.

Can't wait to test some new goggles and put the new bike to the test on a nice road course.

Cheers to all...:pbj:

Hey Scott,

The powerful cold front that made news in the north east US also kicked up the seas down here in Florida. The beach swim was tough, with 4-5 sets of breaking waves taller than I am crashing onto the beach. Once you got past them (hopefully with your goggles still on), the current tried to drag you off course. Pretty tough swim for only a quarter mile, but the water temp was around 78, so it wasn't all bad.

The bike rocked. I had my PR bike split in a sprint event. Even with the windy conditions, I made up many positions on the bike. The course had one small bridge and for the most part, it was an ideal flat and straight course for biking, so I expected a fast time.

The run was also my best time in a sprint event. I'm not a strong runner, but I'm making progress and hopefully it keeps getting better as the longer races approach.

splits were 12:31 / 2:14 / 26:55 / 1:02 / 26:07 = 1:08:43

There were close to 1000 participants in this race! Its amazing to see how popular this sport is getting.

Take care...

Eddie

Great Job Eddie! Sounds like you had an amazing race. Congrats. You're run times are fine. Don't sweat it. It'll come. Congrats on the PR bike.

My next is the IM 70.3 May 6th. I'm not raedy :(
