Great experience!
Following a 16 week training regiment, I was able to complete the Miami ING marathon under 5 hours. I actually feel great today. Only a slight soreness in my hamstrings and a spot under my right foot. Compared to some of my training partners, one of which still cannot walk, I feel the pace I kept was perfect.
Now I feel better about signing up for ironman!

Congrats! 26.2 is most certainly the hardest part of an IM. If you can get through the swim in 1:30 and the bike in 8:00 then you can just about walk the Marathon and finish before the cutoff. I say just jump right in.

Scott,

I will be doing the ING in Miami again in January. Let me know your plans and we can get together when you're in town.

By the way, I just got back from signing up for the 2008 FL Ironman. We watched the race and then signed up on SUnday. Conditions were amazing and the course records all fell. What an amazing event. It was the first time I have seen an Ironman in person.

That means I will be doing the St. Croix 70.3 this year as one of my tune up races.
