Congrats Syd! I'm totally jealous. People don't give that race the respect it deserves. The conditions can vary greatly and the swim can be challenging as many competitors just discovered. Heather (Iron Mom) should be able to give you some good advise. Is this your first?

Yeah,
I ran the marathon course (well 1/2 marathon loop) last year, and it was pretty easy. Totally flat. The temps can be a bit of a pot shot in November though. They had what I would consider ideal temperatures lastweekend. A little cool to start but warming up to nice temps for the marathon. I've heard that the humidity and winds can play a big factor. I don't mind the wind because where I train I almost allways have wind, on my longer rides it often switches directions from when I leave to when I return. Headwinds both ways, YeaH!!!woohoo
I will be down there again this March break. (My parents rent a condo 500m from the swim start and next to the tranisition area, That is why I picked this one to start) I plan to Run the course atleast once probably twice over the 8 days I'm down there. I will ride as much of the bike as possible (some roads are too dangerous normally) and will probably drive the bike course. I also hope to talk my wife into renting a kayak and paddling while I swim. I would like to mimic(sp.? ) the actual swim course as much as possible. I am almost as excited to go down for march break training as the race!
I'm pretty stoked at the moment, if you couldn't tell already!
Cheers

Syd,
Let me know if you want any insight to the course! Some bumpy roads on the ride and you'll need some lighting on the run going into St. Andrews State Park!

Good luck Syd. Florida is a great race and you're going to have a ball.
Nice to see you back Iron Mom. How do you feel? When can we expect a race report?
