Getting ready to head up the downtown Miami for my first Olympic tri. The race outline can be seen at TRI MIAMI!

.7 swim / 24.8 bike / 6.2 run

My goal is under 3 hours. The weather is perfect, water temp is over 80, highs are in the mid 80's and the morning low should be around 75. This will be my 5th tri (4 sprints) and the adreneline has started pumping already!

Scott,

How's it going? Hows the taper? Mine starts (sort of ) next week. I have a 22 mile run to do but the rest is beginning taper. My back is out of whack at the moment, so my chiro says no running for at least 2 days. But, I'll supplement with easy spins and swimming.

I've been tapering for the last month girl :D I'm ready I suppose. Stuck in St Thomas (neighboring island) this week so no bike and no long flats or rollers for longer runs. I've been doing hill repeats (these hills are steeper than LA gas prices in an oil embargo). Virtually no swimming due to work so I'm ready to get back home where I can hit the beach or pool at lunch. Thurs I fly to FL. 7 days to the dance!

So how about you? Ready to "feel the love"? Nutrition plan down? Take care of that back.

PS Sorry to hijack your thread DD!

Where in FL are you headed? I thought your IM was in St. Croix? Is it the Great Floridian?

Yes, doing GFT again. There are actually 5 Virgin Islanders traveling in for that race. I love the Clermont area and that IM is relatively challenging. Everyone thinks FL is F_L_A_T. At least until they're cursing while walking up at Buck Hill and Sugarloaf! :)

Alright!!!

Finished in 3:00.25

32.40 / 2:10 / 1:19.20 / :49 / 1:05.03

The day was very WINDY. The swim was tough. Choppy water, a strong current and no vis.

The bike course was two loops over an expressway. There were two large bridges, and the wind had a field day with us. My bike time was actually very good compared to other in my age range. Maybe I gave too much on the bike, because I didn't do well on the run. If I would have turned in my usual 50-55 miutes on a 10K I would have finished 50 positions higher!

I would recommend this race to anyone looking to do an olympic distance in the fall next year. It was well organized and the atmosphere was great.

Next up, Miami Man oplympic distance in November.
