Well, it finally hit me. I got stuck with a nasty cold. My hubby had it last week, and I thought "I haven't gotten sick all year, maybe its because of my training." :umno: Well, here I am, box of kleenex next to me, pajamas, and tea. I'm scrapping my run today, its a recovery week, so I don't feel so bad. Today is plenty of rest and liquids so that I can kick this thing in the a#! by tomorrow. Lots of vitamin C, super B, and various other vitamins too.

Take care there IM. Fatigue will exacerbate your recovery times. The general rule is as long as it's from the neck up, it's OK to exercise moderately. If you're feeling it below the neck, you're better off fully recovering before begining again. Hope you feel better!

Scott's right, I did my Oly with a chest cold and it was a very long day, as luck would have it I was too near the event to get over it in time, you have the time so use it like a taper week. If it's a head cold I suggest a eucaliptus (sp?) steam after a relaxing swim, if it's down in your chest maybe just the steam.
Get well Soon.

Well, guys, I'm finally feeling about 90%. This one was a duzie! I took a few days off and Sunday ran 12, then Monday biked 30. So, today was a scheduled off day, and I'm taking it to rest up for the 40/12 brick tomorrow. This is run week:
W: 40b/12r
Th: 18 r
F: 3500 s
S: 40b/6r
Sun: 3500 s/ 12 fartlek
M: 30 recovery spin
Next week is bike week, and its a heavy bike week. But, I know that I'll be ready for IM Florida!
Scott, how was the training this weekend? You know, I was watching a show on tv called "Househunters International" and I was wondering what houses go for in the VI. Surely they must need air traffic controllers there! (it was the lobster talk that did me in!)

Of course we need ATCs. Housing is incrediblely reasonable here. St Croix so far has been an undiscovered jewel. I don't see it staying that way. You can buy a nice 3BR house for 400k at the moment. Neighboring islands (42 miles is the closest) might have that same house for $600k+.
Glad you're feeling better. Last week was light and weather will force this week+ to be light as well. Sat yardwork, Sun 50b/3r, Mon 53b/7r, Tues 7r hill repeats, tomorrow+ forecast heavy rain. Will likely do core work & stretching.
