This weekend will be a Sprint Triathlon for me and I was thinking about doing it in a pair of compression shorts. Seems the biking shorts have too much padding for the run, not that it hurts or anything, just feels odd. I figured the compression shorts will give all the support I need and not be a bad thing in only a 13 mile bike.
Thoughts?

I race in tri shorts for all of my races, although my IM will be in very comfy bike shorts.
Are you doing the Eagle Creek this weekend? I'm am, first race of the season. Look into the Shelbyville series too. Little longer swim and bike, but the course is flat.

I am doing the sprint in Warsaw/Winnona Lake (north end of the state) this Saturday. Still a flat course. I ran a half marathon a few weeks ago in the compression shorts and do not have time now to order a pair of tri-shorts without paying big bucks for shipping. I know they will be okay for the swim and run and I think I will try them for a 15 mile bike ride on Wednesday to work and home.
If I do not like it, my biking shorts were just fine last year and will do for this one this year.
Thank you for your feedback and good luck this weekend Heather.

At least use Body Glide or Chamois Butter! Things can get rubbed in the wrong places and make for a race you'll soon want to forget! Good luck!
ps ~ you might try local bike shops to see if they carry tri shorts, worth a shot!
