I was wondering if anyone out there has done the Whirlpool Steelhead 70.3 before. I signed up for it and I was wondering if it is a good race and what to expect. Thanks.

I have some friends that have done it. I was told that it was a cool one to do. Apparently they start the swim by jumping off a pier....Bike is supposed to be shady.

Do you know if the bike is hilly or mainly flat?

I believe that area is mainly flat. Depending on where it starts there may be a hill at the beginning. My in-laws live near there so I plan on riding the course a few times prior to the race.

I can check with my co-workers that have done it and ask again about the course.
