breaking in new shoes

I have what I fear is a rather foolish question. I bought new running shoes, then got injured. I've been wearing them at work (I walk quite a bit all day) and wondered if I can consider them broken in? Any opinions would be welcome. Thanks

I would think so. Well, at least enough to say that the "new shoe" stiffness is manageable or completely gone. What exactly did you injure?

Thanks for the info. Actually I developed a blood clot on my ankle, v. painful but ran an ultrasound on it and apparently it's only superficial, not deep. No explanation why, just that it happens sometimes. I'm to stay off it for a couple of days, then back to work. I guess I'll keep walking in my new shoes and get back to running soonish. Thanks again.
