Nike vs. Timex

My Timex IM heart rate monitor died today. I have an older Nike Triax SDM which still works, but I'm thinking about getting a Nike Triax Elite HRM/SDM or a Timex IM Bodylink. Any suggestions?

Feature-wise the watches seem pretty similar. I don't think Timex reports instantaneous speed/pace (only average), Nike definitely does. What about software and downloading data - is it useful?

Thanks,

The timex looks good - have you used it yet?
How heavy is the GPS unit? Wear do you normally place it?

Yup, just got it last week. I've run with it a couple of times. I haven't figured out all the features yet -- I want to set the watch to auto-split (every 0.25 miles) like my old Nike SDM. And I have to say, it was a little tricky to figure out -- since real men don't read manuals :-). But overall, I'm happy with it. When I first picked it up, the GPS seemed heavier than I would have expected. However, I hardly notice it while running. I wear the GPS on my upper left arm. Since it's positioned high on the arm, I don't feel any added swing weight. The GPS also comes with a belt clip, but I haven't tried the clip yet. I'm happy with it. I really wanted to have integrated HRM and Speed/Distance system; I used to feel silly wearing 2 watches. Anyway, I'd buy it again. And, you can't beat the price.

BTW, I think Timex has a slightly smaller GPS for next year (at least the ad I saw in Runner's World looks different than mine). Oh well! For the price, it's still an excellent buy.
