The Road Machine has a 6.5" and 6.25 pound flyweel. The key to its success is an oversized and balanced flywheel. Slightly slower in accelerating, once you get it rolling, it smoothes out the pedal stroke and maintains the momentum. It has been described like riding in a pack or drafting in a pace line.
Kinetic Folding Steel Frame
Can you say HEAVY DUTY! This Kinetic Trainer Frame is precision made from 16 gauge steel, robotically welded and powder coated for a lifetime of use. It features patented "quick release lever lock" which speeds the trainer’s connection and removal from your bike and folds in half for easy transport an off-season storage. Patented, multi-position folding legs enable the rider to adjust the height of the Kinetic Trainer, keeping the drive wheel close to the floor. This enables the user to maintain good riding position without a riser block under the front wheel. Four (4) custom designed non-marking, molded feet grip the floor to stabilize the frame while protecting sensitive floors from damage and isolate sound transmission to room below. Kinetic Fluid Resistance Unit
Finally, a fluid resistance trainer that does not leak. The Kinetic Fluid is smooth, quiet and replicates power requirement of an outdoor ride. Precision made and calibrated with Tune’s Power-Tap Hub, the Kinetic Fluid produces resistance levels from 5 watts to 3000 watts (50 MPH). Best of all, the Kinetic Fluid is speed sensitive and automatically adjusts its difficulty level to match the rider’s speed. Like riding outdoors, when you shift your gears to go faster or slower, the Kinetic increases or decreases the resistance. Just like outdoors, the faster you go, the harder it gets. 5 year warranty on resistance unit.
The Kinetic Fluid Resistance Unit is filled with 3.0 ounces of thermodynamically neutral, liquid silicon, which maintains the same viscosity at all temperatures. This is important because the core temperature of fluid resistance units can reach temperatures of over 400 degrees. This is why the fluid resistance unit has a cast aluminum hosting and 80 cooling fins to dissipate the heat, making it operate at the lowest temperature in the industry. The Kinetic fluid is so unique it is patented. The design utilizes a totally sealed fluid chamber with no external moving parts. The drive roller uses a specially designed coupler to spin the impeller inside the seal fluid chamber. This coupler utilizes 12 neodymium, rare earth magnets with alternating polarity to form a seemingly solid shaft. In reality, the two halves of the drive shaft are separated by .030 of an inch. The 2 1/8 inch roller, designed to minimize your tire wear, is larger than most of the other brands on the market.
