I Love the clif shot blocks. I tried them last week for the first time. I wasn't sure about this product but I am happy I decided to give it a try. Pros - Not too sweet yet I felt I was having a candy, I had the cola flavor - I can have as many as I want, which is difficult to do with the gel as it is hard to have half a gel pack. I had 1 block every 30 minutes. The suggested dose is 3 blocks for every hour, but I didn't want to have as much. - Effective? I felt great during my ride, so it may be that it was effective. I wasn't hungry or felt tired. Cons - The packet doesn't re-seal so I had to throw away blocks I didn't eat. - A little difficult grabbing a block from inside the small package while on bike. I had to stop to get one. I may have to find a creative way to make is easier to reach.

At the beginning of 2005 I was ranked in the top-30 in the world in triathlon. I had placed 27th at the 2004 Olympics, and was runner-up at Pro Nationals. I was ready for a break-through year, and Aegis would help make it happen. In the spring I tested my Aegis in World Cup races in Honolulu, Mazatlan, and Ishigaki, Japan. After three solid performances, and a podium finish in Japan my world rank jumped to fifth. Later in the summer I raced in a World Cup in Corner Brook, Canada. The bike course was hilly and technical. My Aegis performed perfectly and I took second place, my highest finish ever in a World Cup. A final World Cup race in Manchester, England a few weeks after Corner Brook gave me another top-10 finish on my Aegis. I was ranked fourth in the world when I started law school the following week. Fast-forward two years to 2007. I decided to try to qualify for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. I needed my old bike back. Aegis agreed to sponsor my dream of going to the Games. They set me up on my old friend, the “Victory” frame. It is a flaming red carbon fiber road bike. I call it “El Fuego,” or “The Fire,” in Spanish. It helps remind me of my passion for riding, and the emotion it will take to qualify for the Olympics once more. Riding El Fuego, I won my first race back at the Musselman Triathlon in New York. Regardless if I qualify for the Games, I know I will have the best racing of my life on my Aegis.

I agree with Robert. It is a little bulky, but nothing you can get used to. Had trobule with the chest strap. I have gone through 4 batteries in the 5 months that I've owned it. Company said it's a manufacturing defect and is sending a new one.

Great way to log and see your workouts with optional software, a little on the bulky side, but you get used to it.

I use GUs on long rides or before climbs. You have to drink water afterwards or it will dry out your mouth. Good little boost, but the sticky wrapper after you eat one is a drag.

Stiff, light and lots of great places to grab onto during sprints or climbs. A very nice bar.
