USA Triathlon Brings Astavita on Board as Sponsor, Supplier

USA Triathlon is proud to announce that it has added Astavita as an official antioxidant supplement supplier to USAT.

Astavita is a manufacturer of a nutritional supplement containing the powerful antioxidant AstaREAL® astaxanthin (pronounced asta-ZAN-thin), which has been found through research to help improve physical and muscle endurance as well as reduce muscle damage during rigorous exercise. Astaxanthin, an all-natural carotenoid, is in the same family of antioxidants as lutein and beta carotene.

As part of the two-year agreement, Astavita will supply Astavita Sport to long course athletes and teams competing at national championship and world championship events in 2007 and 2008.

“It is apparent that athletes need to consume products that will give them optimum protection from free radicals within the body. Fortunately Astavita has a product, Astavita Sport, that will do just that,” said Tim Yount, USAT executive vice president for marketing and communications. “Through our partnership we not only believe that we can help our athlete’s performances over the long haul but offer significant value to a company that is using multisport as a springboard for their business. We look forward to our relationship with them through Beijing in 2008.”

“Astavita is extremely excited to be working with USA Triathlon, their coaches, teams and members,” said Charles DePrince, president of Astavita. “Considering USAT’s presence in this industry, we feel that it is an honor and a terrific opportunity to be designated as an official supplier with our researched and patented nutritional support for muscle recovery and physical endurance. As we are witnessing the tremendous growth in the sport of triathlon, we look forward to a long and successful partnership with USAT.”
