| As with may doctors, his data may be semi-accurate but his thinking is flawed. I don't like to admit it but his science is somewhat sound. One faulty argument is % of fat burned. 60% at rest may be correct (I've heard this before) but absolutely does not factor in the residual calorie burn once excercise stops. Also, interval work burns calories from muscle glycogen not fat, so the health benefit is less. I'd love to see data on his test groups, familily histories, etc. I'd bet the results are less definative than he's suggesting.
Think about this... Why do you Tri? A show of hands??? How many for cardio health. Go ahead, don't be shy. Let's see those hands. Hummm... Nobody. Go figure!
We Tri because we like competition, like the challenge, love the disciplines. If I had to do 20 minutes 3 times a week, I'd be fat as a pig. I work out because I love to Tri, not because I love to work out. Am I by myself on this one? :)
