    Whats a good time?

Hey everybody, can you give me your thoughts on what is a good time for:
    450 yard swim:
    12 Mile Bike:
    3 Mile Run:

so far i got 9 minutes for the swim and 26 minutes for the run. I know i need to get that down, but what should i be aiming for?

Also what is the average weight for a triathalete? I weigh 210 pounds and i'm more into lifting weights than triathalons.

9 Minutes for the swim will likely put you at the back of middle of the pack
For the bike 35 minutes is 20mph, 45 is 16 mph.
26 minutes is an 8:40 mile and sounds respectable given your size.

Would your answer be any different for a woman? I'm just to the point where I can swim the distance (400) and need to start working on time. What time would move us to the front of the middle of the pack? And what time is the front swimmer getting? I have no idea what to expect...
    THANKS!!

Jen, For women in my age group (30 - 35), the front swimmers are averaging 1:15 - 1:20ish per 100m. The front of the middle pack are about 1:45 - 2:15 per 100m. If you are used to swimming in the pool, take about 10 sec per 100 and add that to make your open water time pace. These are just close approximations.
