How's it going? This is my second season of triathlon and it took only one race to become addicted to the sport. I got the Season Opener race in a few weeks ago, and am preparing for my first Olympic distance at the MIT in three weeks.

My background is swimming (HS) and its helped put me in good position going into the bike transition which means I also have a lot more work to do with both the cycling and the running portions of the race.

Training about 6 days/week and although sometimes exhausting, its also enjoyable. Being in South Florida, I'm afforded the ability to get outside for many of my workouts which is nice.

Anyone in South Florida (Broward County especially), I'm up for training if you want to hit me up. I also train at LA Fitness.

    Best,
    Rob

Rob, I was also there for the freezing swim at the Season Opener...
I was also a swimmer in HS and College, which gives me a great head start but my running skills suck....
Good luck on the Olympic Distance Tri!

    Not fast enough for college

Well, I wasn't fast enough for college; though I've finished top three in my division in past races. We'll see on the MIT though! Are you competing in the MIT?

    Very nice!
No...I'm not doing the MIT...too much for me...I can barely run 3 miles on the sprint tri, imagine a 21k! lol
Are you going to the one this Sunday @ CB Smith Park?

    Nope

Just training for MIT. The run though is only 10k (not 21, which I'm not up to yet either). Was considering this weekend's race but I didn't want to interfere with the MIT. I'm also doing Nautica South Beach the first weekend of April which is more than a sprint but less than full Olympic distance. Then break until the one-mile swim event at the end of April (which you should do if you don't know about it...there's also 5k swim and 10k swim). Then the Trilogy beginning in June.

Ah I thought it was a half ironman....so when it the MIT?
Yes, I know about the swim....I'll will do the mile swim, the only reason why I dont do the 5k swim is bc I'm not very thrilled with the circle swimming....
I'll be at the trilogy as well.
I didnt know about the Nautica SB, I'm going to look into that
