Tri Noobie Checking in

So I'm a bit overweight. I come from a marathon cycling background, however I have recently re-located, and the bike is lagging behind, so I have picked up the two other Tri sports to pass the time. I'm signed up for Jack's Generic Tri in August (bike /should/ be here by then). I've also set myself up a goal for this exercise, I'm at about 185lbs now (or was 3 weeks ago when this began) my goal is to get down to about 155 or so.... and finish the Tri

What!!!

First I think we may have some body issue's here! 185 is not fat! I'm 164 at racing weight, and 155 would kill me!

How tall are you, and is 155 healthy for someone of your height!

Syd

According to most of the calculators about, 155 is in the middle range of safe ranges for my height, and thus, a goal, I wont be upset, or obsessive about getting there, but, it is where I set my sights. 155 is where I was healthy about 2 years ago before kids and slacking, so to even get close again would be great.
