I am just beginning my Triathlon life, I was a bit unfit and a friend convinced me to do the swim leg the Noosa (Australia) Tri last year. I was very nervous, being out of shape, and surrounded by these super-athletes, but after experiencing the camaraderie, friendliness and atmosphere, I was hooked! I look forward to swapping stories with people who love triathlon as much as I do.
Why would anyone push their body to such limits!! Went for a short run, today in 80 degree weather and could only do about a mile. I'm better, I think on the bike so far. I've never done a triathlon but have much admired Dave Scott and like the diverse skills associate with the sport. It seems like a beginner would be naturally be stronger on the bike than running or swimming. Is this normally true?
I have to agree with Deegs78, it depends on your preferred discipline. The multisport aspect is what makes Tri so challenging. Good cyclists dont necessarily make good triathletes, however, being strong ina descipline makes for a great start!
