Training alone and moto.

I like training on my own. Is that good or bad? I do not train cosistently for tris I tend to jump from marathon training to tri to beer drinking training (try and keep it to a minimum). I am currently training for the half Ironman in St Croix, and to tell you the truth I am doing it for the challange and to see how competitive my body is at that distance. I mainly train for the challange and the competition of it, but I am not out to win everything. I think I can be a better "triathelete" if I really concentrated on it. Does anybody think that if I had a regular training partner it would help me focus my efforts, or would I end up dragging that poor soul into the depths of my inconsistency?

Hey
Sure a training partner would help focus you, but does that really matter. It sounds like you have a pretty good philiosophy going as it is. A little bit more consistency may make a big difference, but you seem to have the right attitude. I sometimes wish that I was a little less focused, but my goals are different than yours. So the end justifies the means for me. If you really want to compete at a higher level you will need to focus more, but if your just in it for the joy of competing and finishing. Keep doing what you are doing. Enjoy it! Too many serious atheletes don't now days.
Good Luck

I like that saying more for the "get off your ass and do something" idea, but I see what you mean!
