Hey I am new to this sport any suggestions??

Hey I am new any suggestions for training! I have always wanted to compete in a triathlon now I've decided to get off my lazy a-- and do soething about it. I have always been physically active with plenty of running sports > I bought a new bike last year and now i think I am ready for the experience. I look forward to hearing from others and also hopefully competing with you also. Good luck to all rhino

My suggestion is to pick a particular race or distance that you want to try and start by setting up your training to get you there. It sounds like you are already well versed in running and biking, its that swim thing that gets most beginners, get yourself in the water as soon as you can and add that skill to your resume. Like anything, don't try to do too much too soon, triathlons are about endurance, and so should your training.
Good luck and welcome aboard.
Spike.

Welcom Rhino,
I would echo Spike's comment about swimming. And I just suggested this same thing to Annie (another new Triweek member)...meet up with a swim coach once or twice to establish good basic technique from the get go...critical especially since you already have the running and cycling background.
