Hey everyone from Omaha, Nebraska. I'm somewhat new to the triathlon craze and am hoping I learn a few things from you guys. This year I'm preparing for a 50mile canoe/bike/run in Chippewa, Minnesota. It's in June, and I've been impeded a bit from training because of some asthma issues, but I've just recently recieved some amazing new medicine and I'm back on track, but I'm gonna need to kick it up a notch or two. Wish me luck!
Welcome to Triweek!!! i am sure you will kick ass. Double kudos to you for training for such challenging race. I can't imagine having to train in the cold weather..especially the canoe portion of the race.
I bid you hello as well, and please feel free to through out some specific questions about your training. Incidently, I'm an asthmatic as well ... what was it that worked so well for you?

hey thanks for the warm welcoms daphne and smartt/rst. my asthma medicine isnt exactly new perse, but its a new dosage. i had been taking advair at 100/50mcg but i was having asthma attacks 3-4 times a week, sometimes even more. so the doctor called me up and prescribed it at 250/50mcg and i havent had any trouble since. previously i tried singulair and all that jazz, but it did absoulutely nadda for me. in my opinion, for an asthmatic over the age of 15, go with advair at a good dosage 2 times a day.
same story goes w/ my aunt, she had horrible asthma problems and went to a pulmanologist who told her to use advair 250/50, and she ran a triathlon with no asthmatic breathing problems at all.
