I have been training for 1/2 Ironman for 6 months but just alittle scared to sign up for one. I would really like to attempt by first 1/2 in May or June. Does anyone have a suggestion regarding a good "beginner" 1/2. I live in Atlanta and there is the Rock and Roll 1/2 in Macon GA, but I was told this race is a difficult one for a beginner. Any thought or suggestions would be great!
I think any half IM would be considered difficult for a "beginner" :) FWIW, I live in Warner Robins which is 15 miles south of Macon and I'm already signed up to do it. This will be my first half IM and my only goal for this one is to get through it. I'm certain I'll learn a lot by doing it. The bike portion is going to be hilly in some sections. In another thread here on the forum someone posted a link to the course profile. Come one down and join us.
I am thinking about my 1st half IM in september near rochester NY , i am doing a sprint in june to get my feet wet and lungs aired out!! Good luck with training and remember we dont need to win we just want to finish. Use a good pace Rhino
