Briefly...Im a 47 yr old guy,who ran and played soccer until a year ago when I tweaked something behind my knee, medial and about 5cms above the knee crease. My PT said medial gastroc tendon.I did all the usual... relative rest, ice etc etc. About 3 months later I could jog lightly and ride my bike but both set off the ache in the upper medial calf area ,especially the day after the activity.There has been a very gradual improvement in the 8 months since...Ive had an ultrasound scan ,whice didnt reveal any obvious damage but the radiologist injected some steroid into a bursa between the membranosis and gastroc tendons. This had no real effect. My work keeps me walking about 5k per day and causes the medial gastroc to ache quite a bit. I absolutely am at my wits end....my consultant wants me to give it 3 months more before he reviews it again. Im reading more and more about tendinosis in tendons...could it be that at this stage or is there a bursa problem.....has anyone suffered similar. I would be very grateful for any advice/replies....Dan
