Rotor Cranks The Q-ring???

Does anyone know anything about these. I am looking to get some but the only thing that I know about them is what the guy tells me who is selling them.

Q-rings are a heck of a lot easier to learn on. The premise is the front chain rings are not round but rather oval. They claim to eliminate the "dead spot" in the cycle.

Rotors are really tough to learn, but absolutely force the ride to make complete revolutions without yielding to the "dead spot" in the pedal revolution. These require a steep learning curve, weeks of training and if you stop cycling in the off season, expect to have to re-learn them when you pick back up.

I've never ridden either but read many articles on them and have friends that have tried both. All have gone back to a "regular" rotor/ring set up. The evidence of benefit is sketchy at best. My opinion is if they were all that, the top pros would be riding them. To the best of my knowledge, only those with endorsements do now.

Good luck!
