Carbohydrate loading supplement--replacement for Ultrafuel

I was a big fan of Twinlab's Ultrafuel, but unfortunately, it is no longer manufactured. The only substitute I have found is Glycoload, but for the same amount of calories (approx. 400), Glycoload has double the sugar of Ultrafuel (60g vs. 29g). Although I haven't noticed any ill effect from Glycoload (I'm only using it once a week currently), I was curious as to whether anyone has found another product that accomplishes the same thing with less sugar. I haven't yet pushed the limits of Glycoload, but figured now would be a good time to seek alternatives and experiment.

I use the carb supplement on any training day where I train >2.5 hours consecutively, and I ingest it about 2 hours prior to the session.

Coach,

I liked ultrafuel too, but I mostly used it as a recovery drink. Have you used Hammer Gel or Gpush 4? Hammer Gel is maltodextrin with 0 simple sugars. I don't like the taste of Gpush, but some people swear by it. It tastes like sugary alka seltzer to me.

Carbo loading supplement

Have you every tried Extran? Extran is made by Nutricia, one of the biggest nutrition companies in the world.

This is the one that most of the Tour de France riders use.

They have a powdered drink mix (Citrus flavor), which packs a massive 575 calories per serving (or 288 at 1/2 strength)!

They also have these cool drink boxes (Citrus or Peach flavors), which are easy to carry and they have 320 calories per box.

Extran uses mostly complex carbs (with about 15% simple sugars or 25g).
