| Ever since I switched to a low carb diet to address my cholesterol problem I've been using the salt tablets regularly to maintain my electrolytes during training. My rule for using it is simple: I usually sweat about 1 liter per hour during base training. That figures out to be roughly 800mg of sodium and 190 mg of potassium. For the first 2hrs, I take enough tablets to replace that and drink 1 liter of water. Starting on the 3rd hr, I begin to drink 1/2 gatorade 1/2 water and reduce my salt tablet number by 1/2. |
