I am looking to buy the q-rings, and the only feedback that I have received is by the guy selling them to me. Has anyone ever used them and are they worth the money. I dont see to many pros using them so I am not sure if they will work for me. Any imput would be great, thanks.
Hey Tony! I l had to laugh when I saw these things come out, like it is some new magical gimmick designed to increase your power. There is nothing new under the sun. Back in the early 1980's we had the "Bio-Pace" elliptical chain rings, designed to do the same thing. They weren't very popular back then. I guess someone is determined to push this theory on the cycling community. I've never ridden either the Bio-Pace nor the Q-rings, but I'm a little skeptical. I think if they were a "silver bullet" you'd see everyone in the pro pack riding them.
I tried out the eliptical chain rings back in the 80s and this is what I noticed. If you are the type that prefers to push harder at a lower RPM range instead of subscribing to the high RPM way, you may like these type chain rings. If you do better pedaling at a higher RPM than say 90, they tend to screw up your spinning. This is based strickly on my experience with them.
