Hanging Bike

With cold weather/winter in Ohio, I am putting up my "good" bike for the next few months, so I will be riding my traing bike inside and out....

My qusetion is, is it OK to hang my bike by its wheel (what to keep it out of the way of the Kids and cars). I have the typcal bike hanges that that you hang by the wheel from the ceiling... Opions

Regular hook

I do the same and don't have a problem, the only concern I know others have ran into was some scratches on the rims. Obviously don't hang it with race wheels on, other than that it should be fine.

I hang my bike the same way, but I use a velcro strap to wrap around the wheels and hang the bike with.

I don't have a good bike yet, because I'm just starting out. (In fact, I don't have my own bike at all yet, I'm just borrowing one.) However, I've never heard anything about it being a problem to hang a bike by the wheel.
