A funny thing happened...

Alright, I haven't posted a narrative in a while.

Yesterday, I was out for a 70 mile ride (trying to make up for a century missed due to an injury). I was about 55 miles into it, stopped at an intersection, and eating my RKT. Low and behold, here comes this young kid; I'll say about 18 or 20, and he flashes by me. I notice the nice Trek, and the nice gear he's wearing. Well, you know that to me, that means a challenge. So, I clip and get going to catch up. I caught him about 3/4 mile down the road and kicked up the speed to about 23. I passed him, and he was a bit surprised (imagine that, passed by someone almost old enough to be his mother!) Another mile down the road and he's just hanging on behind me. So, I look back, as if to say, "lets play" and pour it on to 25 mph. Well, lets just say that that was the last I saw of him for awhile. And, the whole time, I'm thinking about how I'm going to have to share this with my online buddies! :)

The funny thing is that he was probably no more than 10-15 miles into his ride.

Yeah, I think he was just starting out. It really does show how much training can imporve a person, no matter what age.
