Advice needed on Tour de France

Howdy,

I will be in France during the Tour and was wondering if anyone had an suggestions on the best way to see a few stages. I will be traveling with my family so I don't want to be sleeping in a tent along the edge of the road. Which town has the best hotels to view the race from? Are there any places to avoid? Thanks in advance.

Damn do I wish I had advice for your query...because that would mean I've actually seen the Tour in person!
I can say that I've been to Paris, and the final stage would be a blast, as the whole town is one huge party. And hell, Paris is just to die for anyway. Have a great time, and good luck!
